Wrexham Thirds rounded off their season with a thumping success in a North East Wales Championship game at Corwen who also played their part in a thrilling game. It was also the last league game for 54 year old Wrexham prop Steve Jarvis who is retiring after playing 35 years of rugby, much of it at the top level. Steve will play his last game at Bryn Estyn Road in a fortnight’s time when he runs out with many of his veteran colleagues in a testimonial match against Wrexham Under 19’s.

Jarvis kicked 3 of Wrexham’s conversions at Corwen, outside-half Carl Pugh kicked 6 more and the rest of the points came from tries by flanker Wayne Roberts (4), number eight Keir Harding (2), wing Peter Blakemore (2), hooker Mark Jones, lock Jason Griffiths and scrum-half Ross Roberts.
