The Thirds claimed the league points when Rhyl Seconds called off their scheduled visit to Wrexham but were then beaten 45-0 in a hastily arranged fixture at Flint.

In another close finish at Castell Alun School, Wrexham Thirds outpointed Denbigh Seconds by 17-15 and held on to their second place in Division A behind Ruthin Seconds. The home side fought back from a 0-10 deficit to win the game with tries from Sion Lloyd-Jones, Chris Rowlands and Terry Smith plus a conversion from Mike Andrew.

Wrexham Thirds succumbed at Flint by 5-14 in a hard fought encounter with Jason Reano claiming a debut try. The Youth Team were beaten by 39-0 in a North Wales Youth League game at Ruthin but showed a measured improvement and were well served by a good pack performance.

In Division A, Wrexham Thirds succumbed to a 10-38 home defeat at the hands of league leaders Ruthin Seconds. Wayne Roberts put them in front with a try converted by Neil Route and Ross Roberts added a rare drop goal, but they ran out of steam after trailing by 10-17 at the break.

The Thirds conceded a last minute try against Oswestry Seconds to lose by 19-20. Wayne Roberts claimed a smart brace of tries, skipper Andy Perrin added another and conversions were shared between Neil Route and Ross Roberts.

The thirid team made up for the diapointment of having their leagur game cancelled by playing Whitchurch 3 at Edgley Park in a cross birder friendly. The home side won 29 - 7 with Wayne Roberts gaining a consolation try which was converted by Neil Route.

The Thirds, having won only once in their last 12 outings, were overjoyed when they defeated Whitchurch Thirds by 29-17 at Bryn Estyn Road. Tries came from Nick Johnson, Gareth Edwards, Rhodri Evans and local cricketer Nigel Roberts, while Sion Lloyd-Jones kicked two conversions and a penalty and Ross Roberts added a final conversion.

The Thirds conceded early scores and were left with too much to do against visitors Flint who won this Championship play-off game by 41-18. Wrexham’s try scorers were Jason Parry and Gareth Owen while Neil Route kicked well to land a conversion and two penalties.

  COLWYN BAY 2 (W) The Thirds were awarded a 35-0 win in the play-offs when Colwyn Bay Seconds conceded their scheduled game at Wrexham because they could field only 9 players. Instead, a friendly was played with Wrexham reserve players increasing Colwyn Bay’s strength to 15 players and a high scoring draw ensued with Anthong Lang notching a brace of tries for the full Wrexham XV.

The crunch game in the North East Wales Championship play-offs between Wrexham Thirds and Wrexham Seconds was decided in favour of the unbeaten Seconds by 43-12. A bright opening spell put the Seconds in the driving seat but the Thirds contested well with scores from James Bellis and Andy Lee, Ross Roberts kicking a conversion.

The Thirds lacked the strength in depth to compete with a well drilled Ruthin Second XV at Cae Ddol in another North East Wales Championship game and were beaten by 51-10. Ross Roberts claimed a second-half consolation try, Neil Route added a conversion and a penalty while Dave Thomas and Gareth Owen played and tackled superbly.

Wrexham Thirds lost by 20-40 to Mold Seconds at Bryn Estyn Road in another championship game, despite contesting well throughout in one of their best performances of the season. Tries came from Nick Johnson, Ross Roberts and Mark Jones, while John Gormley added a conversion and a penalty.

The Thirds travelled to second placed Abergele and performed well with a makeshift side to hold their well drilled hosts to a 26-12 victory. Conceding two early tries didn’t help Wrexham’s cause but they fought back with a penalty try - when Jason Parry was late tackled on the line - a touchdown by Ian Sanger and a conversion by Kelvin Bryan.
