The Under 11s visited the recently - formed Llangollen under 11s for a mid-week fixture at Ysgol Dinas Bran. The home side began in spirited fashion and were quickly into their stride. However, the visitors' Team A edged in front with a try by Tyler Edwards, and outside - half Ross Lloyd scored a second for Wrexham before half -time . During the second period , despite playing into a stiff breeze , further tries followed from Ryan Jones, Nathan Kaitani - Jones and a Jonathon Davies hat-trick to complete a 7-0 victory.
Team B began in determined fashion with Ben Lee , playing in an unfamiliar hooker's role , forcing his way at full stretch for the first try. Anthony Hughes scored the second try for Wrexham soon after half-time , but the hosts hit back with two excellent tries to level things. It was all to play for in the last few minutes , and only a great tackle by Rhys Johnson prevented a Llangollen victory. Final score 2-2.

The under 11s enjoyed the North Wales Tournament at Rhyl. They successfully reached the semi-finals where they were beaten by Ruthin. Played in very changeable conditions , with an almost constant cold wind, the results were as follows .

Group matches:
Llangollen. Won 4-0 ( Ryan Jones (2), Thomas Lea, James Price ).

Mold . Lost 0-2

Rhyl. Won 3-2 ( Jonathon Davies (2), Ryan Jones )
Bro Ffestiniog. Won 8-0 ( Matthew Evans (2), Ryan Jones (2), Ross Lloyd (2), Ben Lee, Jonathon Davies ).

Semi - Final : Ruthin . Lost 0-3

Wrexham under 11s took on a combined under 11/12 team from Nant Conwy in wet and windy conditions at Bryn Estyn Lane. Despite playing against mainly older boys, the home side ran out victors by 4 tries to 3. Ben Lee was once again in sparkling form and quickly opened the scoring with a pair of tries. Nant hit back to reduce the arrears just before half - time, but Ben Lee was determined to complete his hat-trick and did so early in the second period. Once again Nant pulled one back , but Jonathon Davies scored his team's fourth try to secure the victory. Nant grabbed their third try with the last play of the game.

The under 11s continued their run of recent good form with the demolition of touring side Vale of Lune RFC. Team A were quickly into their stride , completely dominating their opponents to record a 6-2 victory. Tries were scored by Jonathon Davies (2),
Ryan Jones (2), Wil Roberts and Ross Lloyd. Team B were equally as impressive . They played some superb rugby to win by 8-1. Tries were scored by Ryan Jones (2), Ben Lee (2), Wil Roberts (2), Jonathon Davies and Thomas Lea.

Llangollen

The Under 11s Team A were in fine form for the visit of Crewe and Nantwich, recording an 8-0 victory. The rampaging forwards set up a fine platform for scrum-half Thomas Lea , who took full advantage to produce an excellent personal performance. Ben Lee ran in the first try, and more quickly followed . Tyler Edwards grabbed two (his first of the season ), Ryan Jones was unstoppable for two more and Jonathon Davies scored a hat-trick to round off a superb game.

Team B took on a mixed age-group side from Llangollen, who proved to be strong opponents. The visitors raced into a 2-0 lead early in the game before Ben Lee pulled one back for the hosts. A further Llangollen try increased the visitors advantage before the interval and another early in the second half broke home hearts. Tyler Edwards scored a nice try to briefly boost Wrexham hopes but it was the visitors who finished strongest, running in a further four tries to record a 8-2 victory.

The under 11s hosted old rivals Widnes on a warm, spring-like morning at Bryn Estyn Lane. 

Team A immediately tore into the visitors , bombarding the visiting try line with some incessant pressure. However , Widnes held firm and by half -time the game remained scoreless. Early in the second period , however , Nathan Kaitani - Jones rounded the Widnes defence to run in a spectacular try. However , the visitors were not finished and managed to equalise five minutes later. Wrexham finished as they began with an all -out siege on the visitors line but , despite crossing it twice they were unable to ground the ball and the game finished one try each.
Team B put up a brave fight before going down to a 2-6 defeat. Wil Roberts jinked over in reply to two opening tries for the visitors , and Jack Chalinor added a second before the break to peg back a further Widnes try. The second -half saw Widnes extend their lead with three well-worked tries. Scrum - half Thomas Lea had a very impressive game .

Ruthin

Team A conceded two early tries as Ruthin took
full advantage of the strong wind at their backs in the first half. However, the second half was a different tale. Jonathon Davies drove over for two well -taken tries to square things up, before departing the field with a head wound. The injury seemed to effect the whole team and Ruthin gained supremacy to score two late tries to wrap up the 4-2 victory.
Team B were in fine form, and it was no surprise when Wil Roberts rounded off a fine move to put his team in front. The hosts managed to score an equaliser before the interval but Jack Chalinor restored Wrexham's lead early in the second period. Ruthin fought back to level things soon after but it was the Wrexham boys who finished strongest with Brython Edwards almost sneaking a
winner. Final score 2-2. 

The under 11s visited Warrington where they suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat in frosty conditions. The game was an absorbing, fully committed encounter with little to choose between the teams. The game see-sawed , as both sides had chances to open the scoring, but defence was outstanding. However, the home side forced their way over for the deciding try with less than ten minutes remaining. Despite a huge effort, Wrexham could not square matters and were particularly unlucky when they crossed the try-line three times in the last few minutes only to be held-up on each occasion.

The under 11s " Team A " entertained Mold in a fully -committed encounter at Bryn Estyn Road. There was little to choose between the teams in the early stages , although the Mold pack were in magnificent form. Indeed , they set up a good platform for the visitors to take a 2 tries to nil lead by the interval. An early try in the second-half further boosted the visitors confidence, but the hosts hit back with Ryan Jones driving over to gain a richly deserved try. Two further tries by Mold , however wrapped up an impressive 5-1 victory.
Team B were a little overawed at first and conceded four early tries to the visitors. However, to their great credit, they hit back in fine style before half-time. Livewire scrum-half Thomas Lea darted over to begin the comeback and speedy wing Wil Roberts ran in a
second try from the halfway line.
The second-half was only minutes old when Jack Chalinor edged Wrexham ever -closer, but a late Mold try wrapped things up for the visitors. A very gutsy performance by Team B.

The under 11s visited Llanrwst where they took on Nant Conwy under 12s, putting up a spirited performance in a 2-5 defeat. Indeed,
it was the visitors who took an early lead when Ryan Jones rounded off some fine forward- play to force his way over from close-range. The home side were under heavy pressure but managed to square things up before the interval. 
Wrexham made whole-sale changes at half-time in order for all 21 players to get a game. Nant Conwy seized the initiative and ran in 4 tries, before Ryan Jones pulled one back as just reward for the great effort shown.

The under 11s turned in another impressive performance to defeat visitors West Park by 7 tries to 1. Ryan Jones opened the scoring and by half - time Jonathon Davies (2), Wil Roberts and Anthony Hughes had added further tries as the home side were rampant. The visitors hit back in the second half with a try of their own, before Jonathon Davies completed his hat-trick and Michael Moore crowned another
excellent performance with his first try of the season.
Team B played some very good rugby before going down to a 1-4 defeat. Outside - half Ross Lloyd scored their only try. Ben Lee had an outstanding game.

The under 11s stormed to a four tries to one victory at Denbigh against a combined under 11/12 home side. The hosts opened the scoring within seconds of the kick-off , with not a single Wrexham hand touching the ball. However, the visitors hit back and Ryan
Jones rounded off some fine forward play to level matters. In the second half, the Wrexham side really began to shine with superb rucking rugby. Jonathon Davies's try was just reward for the pressure the visitors were exerting, and impressive second-row Anthony Hughes scored his first try for the club to edge his team further ahead. The scoring was completed by livewire scrum-half Ryan Weeks , who was playing his first game in that position.

The under 11s visited Crewe and Nantwich RFC where they took on the home under 12 team. Despite losing by 3 tries to nil , the visitors played some outstanding rugby , and often outshone their bigger , more experienced opponents. The pack delivered clean possession for scrum-half Thomas Lea time and time again, and with a little more composure , the visitors could have run in several tries. Stand-off Ieuan Keenan was inches from the line on one occasion , and both Jack Chaloner and Nathan Kaitani - Jones also went close.

Wrexham under 11s played some superb rugby at Bryn Estyn Lane against a strong Ruthin side , before 
suffering two defeats. Team A scored two tries through the ever -reliable Jonathon Davies, but the visitors  scored five times to seal the victory. Man -of -the - match was outstanding hooker Michael Moore, with Ryan Jones not far behind with a brilliant performance in the line-out.
Team B put up a very brave performance , before losing 1-6. Ben Lee scored the home-side's only try after combining well with Sion Edwards. Nathan Kaitani - Jones again caught the eye.

Mold and Wrexham under 11s played some exciting rugby in the first game of the season at Leadmills. Both clubs agreed to play three 10 minute encounters in the warm conditions and used their large squads to the maximum. The first game was evenly contested , with the home side scoring first. However, the visitors grabbed an equaliser through Jack Chalinor, who celebrated his recent return to the club after a year away from the game with a fine interception, to run in a long - range try.
Wrexham used a largely inexperienced team in the second game and suffered a 0-3 defeat. However , debutants James Wilson and Nathan Kaitani- Jones showed plenty of promise with excellent performances.
The third game was again evenly contested , with Mold edging a 1-0 victory. Both clubs then agreed to play a full 15 a-side game with selectors from the North - East Wales schools side present in the large crowd. This was a new experience for all the boys, but both teams served up some excellent rugby on the lung-bursting full - size pitch. Wrexham showed up well in the first -half but, despite having most of the possession, failed to penetrate the try line. The visitors made five changes at half -time and in the
second - half Mold had most of the pressure and succeeded in scoring the game's only try .
