Wrexham combined under 11
and U10 squad put on a terrific performance against |
|
| 22nd Oct | Nant Conwy | 28 - 7 | Nant Conwy had huge squads of both tens and elevens and we only have one team containing a mixture of under10s/11s so Nant asked if we could make up an under 10 and under 11 team borrowing players from them to make up the teams. We had seven under 11s so we only needed to borrow three players from Nant Conwy. The boys and played some outstanding rugby but their inexperience did show against a well drilled Nant Conwy side. Richard Bevis scored our only try with an outstanding run down the wing which he then converted. We finished on a score of 28-7 and would like to thank the Nant Conwy players who joined our squad for their tremendous contribution to the game. |

The new
Wrexham combined U11/U10 team played their second game on Sunday, this time
against Mold Under 10s. Mold played an excellent game of rugby but couldn't quite
match the speed and strength of some of the slightly older Wrexham boys. |
| 8th Oct | Llandudno | 28-0 | The Wrexham combined under 11/10 side had a fantastic start to the season at Llandudno today, They firstly played the Llandudno U11 squad and whilst the score line shows that they came second by 4 converted tries to none, this does not reflect the game at all. The tries came as a result of breakaway runs, that in fact were the only occasions that Llandudno set foot in the Wrexham half of the pitch. Wrexham played an excellent attacking game of rugby with a fantastic effort from all players. The second match was against the mostly U10 Llandudno team. The Wrexham boys took an early lead with a try from Harry Powell, converted by Tom Nelson. Sean Lea gets his name on the score sheet with two tries resulting form excellent team play, both were succesfully converted by Nick Ferrari, and Thomas Rintoul. Tom Nelson again scored a try, with the conversion this time by Harry Powell All in making up an excellent 28-0 result. Very well done to all of the boys. This was their first ever match as a team, with many players completely new to the game and to the club. The Llandudno coaches were most complimentary on the standard of passing particularly. |
