Moresby RFC Aspatria |
(W) 4 - 4 (W) (W)
|
The Wrexham under 10s returned from a very enjoyable and
successful tour of Cumbria over the May bank holiday weekend. In their first game the team met Moresby RFC and , in atrocious conditions, made a late comeback to grab a great victory by four tries to three. Ryan Jones produced an outstanding performance ,scoring a hat-trick , with Jonathon Davies weaving through for the important winning try. On the Monday, with the weather much improved , the boys visited one of the famous old clubs of the North , Aspatria RFC. They played some scintillating rugby, drawing glowing praise from the hosts , to win the first game by six tries to nil ( Jonathon Davies (2) , Ross Lloyd, Ryan Jones, Ieuan Keenan and Brython Edwards ) and the second game by three ties to one ( Ryan Jones (2) and Jonathon Davies ). The team (and parents ! )returned to Wrexham with broad smiles and a spring in the step. |

Report submitted by Mold coach Keith Nicholls Mold and Wrexham took advantage of the spring evening sunshine to rearrange a fixture, following an earlier postponement. Both sides were suffering from unavailability during the Easter break, but nonetheless put on an entertaining display for the spectators. |

Greystones (Eire) |
(L) 3 - 5 (L) 1 - 4 |
Our under 10's switched days this week to offer hospitality to a touring side, Greystones from Eire. Up against a finely drilled and well disciplined squad with "tour" in their eyes our squads could could not muster up what was needed for a win. In the first game James Price put one down & Jonathon Davies scored twice. In the second our only try was by Ieuan Keenan. |
