Wrexhams mini rugby programme was wiped out on Sunday due to waterlogged pitches at Ruthin, but it was a different story at Bryn Estyn Road where the Wrexham Under 14s and 13s achieved creditable victories over Nant Conwy.
The Under 14s won by 17 15 thanks to tries by Rob Evans, Daffyd Joseph, and Meredydd Francis plus an all important conversion from Tom Robinson. The game was as close as the score suggests, and it was the excellent combined play between the home forwards and backs which won the day for the home side. There were also some great individual performances from Man of the Match Shaun Ferrari at prop and Aron Davies at scrum-half.
Wrexham Under 13s triumphed over Nant Conwy by 17 5, their tries coming from Lewis Wynne, Rhys Williams and Russell Jones with a conversion by Ed Evans. This was an even contest between two very committed teams. Wrexham had the edge in the backs and scored all of their tries by moving the ball wide. Outside-half George Stanyard added an extra dimension to the game with his excellent distribution of the ball to the home threequarters.
Week Ending Fri. 30th Nov.

WREXHAM MINI AND JUNIOR RESULTS SUN 18th NOVEMBER 2007
In mini and junior rugby, there was plenty of action at
The Under 14s lost to the visitors by 0 36, but this was not as one-sided a match as the scoreline suggests. Wrexham put in a great all round team performance with some excellent individual plays by Callum Gwatkin and Tom Robinson against a Mold side that proved to be stronger and better drilled on the day.
Wrexham Under 10s played two games
against Mold, losing the first game by 2-8 on tries but managing a creditable 2-2 draw in
the second game. The home sides slow start in the first game left them 1-5 in
arrears at the break, but they played better in the second session, scoring another try
but still letting in another three touchdowns.
In the second game a much improved team performance saw Wrexham set up a number of
powerful driving mauls that tied in the Mold forwards. Good handling led to the ball being
moved across the pitch, opening up gaps for the Wrexham runners to grab two tries. Mold
always looked dangerous when they had the ball in hand and deservedly levelled with two
scores of their own. Wrexham scorers were Ben Martin (2), Ben Jones and Rhys Jenkins. The
Man of the Match award was shared between Ben Martin, who put in a series of tackles as
well as scoring, and Tyler Roberts who tackled excellently and was at the heart of most of
the rucks and mauls in both games.
Wrexham Under 9s delivered a scintillating all-round team performance, whitewashing Mold by 10-0 in their first game before easing to a 9-3 victory in the second contest. A series of blistering attacks and fine tackling led to tries by captain Armarni Roberts (6), Cameron Allen (2) and Blake Turner (2) in the first match. The second game saw fine running from both teams with Armarni Roberts grabbing another six tries and Allen, Turner and Josh Hallem notching one apiece.
The Under 8's beat Mold by 7-6 in their first game and by 8-7 in the second contest. Scorers were Will Smith (7), Xan Filler (3), Joe Parry (3), Tom Jenkins and Matthew Jones. Man of the Match was Joe Parry.
Wrexham Under 7s were beaten by 2-3 in their first match but came back strongly to win their second game by 4-2. Scorers were Sam Williams (3), Lewis Jones (2) and Lewis James.
